It is reminiscent of the child’s fable of Chicken Little and “the sky is falling.” Whenever and whatever goes counter to an agenda gets attacked viciously for failing to bow and cow tail to this new idolized deity. The last time one checked there was still some semblance of a first amendment and free speech in this country. However, just because the United Nations is housed in America doesn’t mean it portends to follow our constitution. In fact, it uses Marxist playbook tactics to do just the opposite. Suppress free speech in the name of saving the world via climate exposure. It’s not even about the climate really, or any of the other misguided issues and cacophony that comes from these foreigners who work on our soil. It’s about “bringing it all down man,” and the climate is just the latest tool in the arsenal of the new world order.
The latest attack on your ability to think for yourself comes from none other than the United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and his band of fellow travelers. Perhaps it’s easier to hoodwink the masses from his local Portugal and other progressive enclaves than here in the states. I love the sheeple at the U.N., like the man from Malta who sits at the right hand of Guterres, who applaud his censorship of American media and technology, in the latest grab for power. You see boys and girls, it’s the big oil companies that are causing this catastrophe and must be stopped at any cost. It’s okay for you to suffer though, and pay extreme prices for an electric vehicle that you never wanted anyway and doesn’t have enough juice to get you to your vacation destination. Meanwhile, the Secretary-General, according to the Wall Street Journal, visited Oman, Kuwait, New York, Nairobi, Bahrain, Santiago, Brussels, Egypt, Jordan, Switzerland, and St. Vincent and Grenadines, and more thus far in 2024. Does his plane fly on solar power?
So what is this current boondoggle all about? Guterres said countries should ban advertising for fossil fuels in a similar way the U.S. banned ads for tobacco and hard liquor. But tobacco and alcohol are illegal for minors in the U.S. and other countries. Fossil fuels remain a legal and regulated resource that supplies 60% of U.S. electric power. The loud mouth Portuguese can’t condemn oil and gas fast enough, but stays silent on issues like forced labor of Uyghurs in Xinjiang. Not gonna be able to arm wrestle with China over that one, so why not hit an easy mark like big oil in progressive America.
Fellow comrades at the International Energy Agency, who have nothing to say about Guterres and other elites jet setting around the world, have come up with ideas for you and how you should live your life to save the world, because after all it is the proletariat that cause the trouble and the eventual uprisings. While it’s perfectly fine for the bourgeois to fly private to Cannes this summer, the IEA has come up with some ideas for your stay-at-home vacation this summer. You can conserve energy by implementing 10 strategies, from carpooling to traveling by train instead of airplane. Hopefully next time you want to visit a family member on the West Coast you’ll have two and a half weeks’ vacation time to make the round trip by Amtrak. Not to mention that it costs thrice as much to go by rail.
The idea is to ask the media and tech companies to stop taking advertising from the oil industry with the ultimate goal to ban oil advertising worldwide. Like alcohol, I’m not sure this really works. If you’re a gin and tonic drinker, you probably still drink G&T’s regardless that you haven’t seen a TV ad since college. Same thing with oil ads. I think the average Joe is still gonna fill up the minivan with regular whether he sees an ad to do it or not. Call me crazy. Guterres will call you a “green washer.” Greenwashing is the word climate alarmists use to attack anyone who disagrees with them. Guterres goes on to say, “Many in the fossil fuel industry have shamelessly greenwashed—even as they have sought to delay climate action.”
The green washers are worried, as they should be, of a Trump, “Drill baby, drill,” mantra, as well as the wipeout of the greens in Europe’s weekend elections. This means that the people may actually be evaluating events and thinking for themselves, which is the ultimate angst of the Marxist left. Always remember that they know what’s best for you, much more so than you do for yourself. If they can convince you that there are 52 types of humans, 50 more than man and woman, then surely they can convince you that mother earth is good, and putting gas in your tank is bad.
